Publication Ethics
Language in Communities, Education and Public Life expects honest reporting, proper attribution and responsible research. Authors must submit original work that is not under consideration elsewhere and disclose prior dissemination, related manuscripts and any substantial overlap. Preprints and conference versions must be identified so the editor can assess overlap and anonymity.
Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, misleading image manipulation, concealed duplicate publication and manipulation of peer review are unacceptable. Authors must obtain permission for reused copyrighted content and identify sources accurately. Quotations, translations and adaptations require clear attribution.
Participants and communities
Research involving people must follow applicable institutional and jurisdictional requirements. State the approving ethics body and reference number where required, or explain why approval was not required. Describe informed consent, including consent to publish identifiable information where relevant. Protect participants, confidential business information and community-held knowledge. Do not imply approval that was not obtained.
Disclosure and responsibility
Report funding, funder involvement, competing interests, author contributions and data availability. Generative AI tools cannot be authors; disclose their substantive use and verify all outputs, facts and references. Authors remain accountable for the work.
Concerns and investigation
Send a specific concern and supporting evidence to the editorial office at info@shoramedits.com. Editors seek explanations, review available evidence and give affected parties a reasonable opportunity to respond. Institutions or other responsible bodies may be contacted where an investigation exceeds the journal's remit. Editors protect confidentiality as far as the investigation permits and do not prejudge an allegation.
Outcomes may include additional review, rejection, correction, an expression of concern or retraction. Published notices identify the reason and link to the affected article. A fee payment, board position or external pressure does not determine the outcome.
