Complaints and Appeals

Appealing an editorial decision

The corresponding author may send a reasoned appeal to info@shoramedits.com, identifying the manuscript, decision and specific factual error or procedural concern. Explain how the concern affects the decision and supply evidence; disagreement alone is not a sufficient basis. Do not submit the manuscript elsewhere while requesting its active reconsideration.

An editor without a conflict assesses the appeal and may obtain an independent opinion. The journal communicates the outcome and reasons. Reconsideration does not guarantee acceptance. Repeated appeals containing no new material may be closed.

Complaints

Complaints about service, editorial conduct, publication ethics or a published article should identify the relevant submission or article, the issue, supporting evidence and the requested remedy. A complaint concerning a particular editor is assigned to an uninvolved senior editor or the publisher for procedural oversight; the publisher does not dictate scholarly acceptance decisions.

The office acknowledges receipt, identifies the appropriate handler and provides updates where investigation requires further time. Information is shared only with people who need it to investigate and respond. The outcome may include an explanation, procedural remedy or action under the correction and retraction policy. Complainants are treated respectfully, including when a complaint is not upheld.
