About the Journal
Language in Communities, Education and Public Life treats multilingualism as the normal human condition. It publishes studies of how languages are used, taught, ranked, and contested, and of how those choices shape access to education, jobs, public services, and justice. Every paper must be about language and its social context. The journal welcomes sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, applied linguistics, language education, translation studies and discourse analysis, using qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods.
Published by SHORAM Editorial Services, Manipal, Karnataka, India. Two issues a year, January and July, with the inaugural issue scheduled for January 2027. The journal publishes in English. Manuscripts, titles and abstracts must be in English. Examples from other languages may be included with English translations or glosses.
