Editorial Independence
Editors decide whether to publish an article on its scholarly merit, relevance and the reports received from reviewers. Payments, invitations and relationships with the publisher do not guarantee acceptance.
An editor with a competing interest must not handle the manuscript. Another editor without that interest manages review and the decision. Articles invited by an editor undergo the same screening and review as other submissions.
