Plagiarism Policy
Submitted work must be original, accurately attributed, and presented without concealed overlap with other publications. Plagiarism includes unattributed use of words, ideas, images, translations, data, or other material. Quoted wording requires quotation marks or a clearly identified block quotation and a citation. Paraphrasing also requires attribution.
Disclose related publications, conference versions, preprints, and reused material during submission. Reusing substantial parts of one's own published work without transparent attribution or justification may constitute redundant publication. A cited source does not by itself supply permission to reproduce copyrighted material.
Assessment
Editors assess suspected overlap in its context; a similarity percentage alone does not establish misconduct or originality. No particular screening service or automatic similarity threshold is claimed. Editors may request sources, explanations, or revisions and may investigate concerns before or after publication.
Authors are given an opportunity to respond to a specific concern. Depending on the evidence and seriousness, outcomes may include rejection, correction, an expression of concern, or retraction under the journal's ethics and corrections policies. Reports should identify the affected passages and original sources and be sent to info@shoramedits.com.
