Publication Ethics
Conference Proceedings in Science and Management (CPSM) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. The proceedings series follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, WAME).
This page sets out the ethical commitments expected of every participant in the publication process. The full operational policies, including procedures for peer review, corrections, retractions, and appeals, are set out on the Editorial Policies and Peer Review Process pages.
Authors
Authors who submit work for inclusion in a CPSM volume commit to:
- Submitting work that is original and has not been published, or is not under consideration, elsewhere.
- Ensuring all listed authors have made a substantive contribution and have approved the submission, in line with the authorship criteria endorsed by COPE.
- Citing and acknowledging all sources, prior work, and collaborators.
- Reporting data and methods honestly and in sufficient detail to permit replication where appropriate.
- Disclosing all conflicts of interest at the time of submission.
- Disclosing any use of generative AI tools or large language models in the preparation of the manuscript.
- Reporting errors discovered after publication so that corrections or retractions can be issued.
Volume Editors
The volume editors of each conference whose proceedings are accepted into CPSM commit to:
- Administering peer review fairly, independently, and to the standards of the proceedings series.
- Declaring any conflicts of interest with submitted papers and recusing themselves from handling such submissions.
- Protecting reviewer confidentiality.
- Maintaining the integrity of the published volume and signing the Statement of Peer Review.
Reviewers
Reviewers engaged by volume editors commit to:
- Providing impartial, constructive, and timely assessments based on the scholarly merit of the work.
- Declaring any conflicts of interest and declining to review where such conflicts exist.
- Treating manuscripts as confidential documents and not using information obtained through review for personal advantage.
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Advisory Board
The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Advisory Board commit to:
- Holding final authority over the editorial standards of the proceedings series.
- Cross-checking each volume independently of the conference organizing committee.
- Making editorial decisions on the basis of scholarly merit alone, without regard to the authors' nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, political beliefs, or institutional affiliation.
- Handling allegations of misconduct under the published procedures of COPE.
Plagiarism and Misconduct
CPSM enforces a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, and inappropriate authorship credit. All submitted work is screened for originality. Suspected cases of misconduct are investigated under the published procedures of COPE.
Authorship
Authorship must reflect substantive contribution to the work. Honorary authorship, gift authorship, and ghost authorship are not permitted. Generative AI tools and large language models cannot be listed as authors. Disputes over authorship are resolved under COPE's authorship guidelines.
CPSM does not offer authorship for purchase under any circumstances.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any personal, financial, or institutional relationships that could be perceived as influencing their judgment. Where conflicts exist, recusal from handling the relevant submission is required. Conflict-of-interest statements are published with each paper.
